The Nebraska Lead Poisoning Prevention Program (NeCLPPP) contracted with the National Center for Healthy Housing to develop training modules for DHHS and local health department staff. The modules are for both new and existing staff who work in the lead poisoning prevention area. These modules provide guidelines and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and DHHS NeCLPPP Program, information and education from other successful state-based CLPPP Programs, research and reference articles, and highlights key partnerships that are critical for keeping children and families safe from lead. The nine modules provide information for both primary and secondary prevention strategies. The modules also highlight the needs to increase local lead testing for children ages 0-6, ensure effective case management practices are implemented immediately, and to create or enhance referral systems that meets the needs of impacted families. These training modules are each about 30 minutes in length and should take no more than 4 to 5 hours to complete all of them.
